Internet Reliability On-line Tutorial
Truth or consequence?:  A Critical Challenge

by Holly Mair, Claremont Secondary School, Victoria, BC

Overview:

No one controls what is posted on the Internet. Anyone may say anything they want, even if they know little or nothing about a topic. This lack of standards means that it is essential for students to know how to judge the authority and reliability of all information posted on the Internet. In this lesson, you will be guided through a set of criteria for assessing the authority of an article on the Internet. They you will analyze two websites and determine which one is more reliable.
